Greek-American college student, Sofia Papachristou got the surprise of her life when she learned that a college paper she had written received an award from Elie Wiesel.
The distinction was given to Papachristou by Wiesel himself, who spoke very highly about the college student saying that her writing is beautiful, poetic and melodic. According to newspaper, The National Herald, Sofia wrote her paper in her last year at Carlton University in Minnesota from where she graduated with honors. Her work was among 5 that were awarded by the Wiesel Foundation.
