Council for Hellenes Abroad (SAE) President and local of Alexandria, Stefanos Tamvakis, spoke of a new page in the history of the Greek community of Alexandria during a general assembly of the local Greek community. Congratulating the Communal committee for its work, Mr. Tamvakis expressed his satisfaction over the future prospects of the Kaniskerios Retirement Facility as a public benefit educational institution that will be created by the Greek community in cooperation with the Alexandria Patriarchate.
From his end, Alexandria Patriarch, Theodoros, characterized the Greek community of Alexandria as "a blessed community in Africa and throughout the world".
