Thousands of Greek-Australians crowded into Darling Harbour over the weekend, within the context of the official opening of the Greek Festival in Sydney, Australia, organised by the Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales. The mainly young crowd took the opportunity of bringing Greek flags with them, waving them as they walked through Tumbalong Park and the city streets.
Some even painted their faces the national colours of blue and white. Meanwhile, a theatre performance of the ancient Greek drama, "Antigone" by Sophocles, which will be staged within the framework of the Festival, received positive media attention in Australian newspapers, with a special mention in the Spectrum supplement of "The Sydney Morning Herald." The ancient tragedy will be directed by Greek-Australian Chris Kohn. Set as favorite Email This Σχόλια
