Four pages in "The Weekend Australian Magazine" - the supplement to "The Australian" daily newspaper - have been devoted to Greek-Australian businessman, Napoleon Perdis. The report refers to the success of his cosmetics in Australia and the United States, as well as to his plans to expand his operations to Europe.
There are 52 Napoleon Perdis stores in Australia, 37 branches at the David Jones department shore, as well as over 500 independent merchants and six make-up schools. Special mention is also made of Perdis' Greek origins, his family and the Greek cultural influences that have had an impact on him. Born of Greek migrants from the western working suburbs of Sydney, Perdis noted that he frequently attended poetry evening, as well as Greek theatre and dance performances, creating a "rich, cosmopolitan, cultural life".
