The Greeks of Egypt celebrated again this year the Easter holidays with the customary lamb on the pit, traditional music and somber religious liturgies, keeping up with the traditions of the mother land.
Heading the festivities were the two main Greek parishes of Cairo and Alexandria. In Alexandria the festivities took place at Satby Square, immediately following the evening liturgy. In Cairo, at the church grounds of St. Constantine and Helen, the entire Greek community gathered to mark the celebrations with all the traditional trimmings and customs of the Greek Orthodox Easter.
