Los Angeles Greek Film Festival (LAGFF) just announced its 2010 Orpheus Awards Jury Members. The five-member jury is responsible for selecting the Orpheus Award winners for the Best Documentary, Best Short and Best Feature films.
Metaphor Entertainment announced that a feature film production titled “DECEMBER RIOTS” is planning to commence principal photography in Athens, Greece on June 28th.

As ancient Greece and mythology has become the recent trend in Hollywood, the new film about mathematician-philosopher Pythagoras comes as no exclusion. Beginning in September, they will be filming in Greece, and more specifically in Samos and Delphi.
In “Maria’s Madcap Adventures”, the Greek-American takes herself out of her comfort zone and pursues things she had only dreamed of doing in the past, like recording a song with a major music star.

Πρωταγωνιστής του Χόλιγουντ ο Πυθαγόρας!
Η ταινία «Πυθαγόρας: Οι πύλες του φωτός» (Ρythagoras: Τhe Gates Οf Light) είναι βασισμένη στο ομώνυμο βιβλίο της Mia Sperber. Στην καρέκλα του σκηνοθέτη θα καθίσει ο Χιλιανός Raúl Ruiz (Ο ξανακερδισμένος χρόνος). Πολλοί διάσημοι αστέρες του Hollywood βρίσκονται σε συζητήσεις για την ανάληψη ενός ρόλου. Ανάμεσά τους ο John Malkovich (για το ρόλο του Πυθαγόρα), ο Gerald Butler (Πυθαγόρας σε νέα ηλικία), η Penelope Cruz, ο Ben Kingsley, ο Brendan Fraser, ο Casey Affleck, ο Patrick Stewart και άλλοι. Εκτός από την ταινία σχεδιάζεται να γυριστεί και τηλεοπτική σειρά (πάλι με σκηνοθέτη τον Raúl Ruiz), καθώς και ντοκιμαντέρ με σκηνοθέτη τον Γιώργο Οικονόμου. Την παραγωγή έχουν αναλάβει η αγγλική ‘Fountain of life Productions’ και η ελληνική ‘Inkas Film Productions’. Τη σύνθεση της μουσικής αναλαμβάνει ο πιανίστας και συνθέτης Lalo Schifrin.
