Alexandria - The ancient Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa, responding to the pleas of the General international Directorate of Developmental Collaboration of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the collection of humanistic aid to earthquake-stricken Haiti, with the blessing of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, delivered to a specific area of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the February 2, a large amount of medical, pharmaceutical and orthopaedic equipment.
Athens – A conference on translation is being organised by the European Centre for Translation of Literature and Sciences, will be held this month at the Hellenic American Union on February 20 and 21. The event is taking place within the framework of a general effort to allow professional translators to talk about their work.

The new electric church bells of St. Nicholas’ Greek Orthodox church in Marrickville of Sydney have been silenced to due the intensity of its (73 decibel) sound. The new electric bells which cost $60,000, were installed to save elderly committee members climbing 40 steps in two bell towers for every wedding, funeral and Sunday morning worship.

Συγχαρητήρια Χατζημαρκάκη προς Παπούλια
Συγχαρητήριο επιστολή απηύθυνε ο Ευρωβουλευτής των Γερμανών Φιλελευθέρων Δρ. Γιώργος Χατζημαρκάκης προς τον Πρόεδρο της Δημοκρατίας για την πανηγυρική επανεκλογή του.Στην επιστολή ο κύριος Χατζημαρκάκης με την ιδιότητα και του Προέδρου του Γερμανο-Ελληνικού Επιχειρηματικού Συνδέσμου DHW αναφέρει μεταξύ άλλων: «επ ευκαιρία της πανηγυρικής επανεκλογής σας παρακαλώ δεχθείτε εκ μέρους της Διοικούσας Επιτροπής του Γερμανο-Ελληνικού Επιχειρηματικού Συνδέσμου (DHW) και εμού προσωπικώς τα θερμότερα συγχαρητήρια και ευχές για ευόδωση της υψηλής αποστολής σας. Είμεθα βέβαιοι ότι και η νέα σας θητεία θα στεφθεί με επιτυχία τόσο στο εσωτερικό της χώρας όσο και διεθνώς.
