Mikis Theodorakis addressed a plea to Turkish government to show due respect to the ecumenical patriarchate
Mikis Theodorakis, stressed that “symbolic actions are those that will establish a stable peace to relations between the two people”.
Patriarch Bartholomew and the ecumenical Patriarchate “comprise the symbols of the Greek Orthodox Church, with which the greek people are tightly binded”, said the popular composer.
The concert, attended by the Greek omogenia in Constantinople, had been organized in the framework of Europe’s cultural capital 2010 and under the auspice of Patriarch Bartholomew.
