An informative event on the new Land Registry is being organized by the Germna-Hellenic Union for the Protection of Real Estate Owners in Dusseldorf in order to inform property owners on the significant legislative changes that have taken place concerning real estate ownership in Greece.
The Pan-Epirote Federation of Europe in cooperation with the University of Ioannina are organizing Greek language programs for young expatriate Greeks.
From July 1-10th children of Greek citizens living abroad and those of Greek nationals employed abroad with transfers will be able to submit the necessary documents for the special entrance examinations that will be held in September.

Swedes say “No” to Ottoman Genocide

On June 12th, the Swedish Parliament voted against the recognition of the genocide of Christian minorities by the Ottoman Empire of Turkey with 245 votes against, 37 in favor and 66 who stated their “presence”. Among the deputies voting against the recognition was the only parliamentarian of Greek descent, Nikos Papadopoulos who belongs to the socio-democratic party. The Greeks of Pontic descent in Stockholm have condemned the action by Papadopoulos.

The National Gallery of Greece’s exhibit “Antiquity and Classicism –Clasical memories in contemporary Greek art” will be presented by the Greek Embassy’s cultural department at the Museum of History and Art in Vienna, within the framework of the official visit to Vienna by the President of the Hellenic Republic, Karolos Papoulias, on Friday July 4th.
