With a major exhibition of Byzantine and post-Byzantine icons, entitled “From Incarnation of the Word to the Divinity of Man” at the National Museum of Art, the Hellenic Cultural Foundation is beginning its cultural activities in Rumania. On October 6, at the same time as the exhibition, the foundation’s branch will be inaugurated in Bucharest by Greek Culture Minister Michalis Liapis.
150 Greek doctors from around the world visited Paphos, Cyprus where they attended the World Conference of Doctors from Abroad, which was held under the aegis of the President of Cyprus, Demetris Christofias.
Deputy Foreign Minister, Theodoros Kassimis concluded his 3-day trip to Hungary where he attended the celebration activities for the 60 year presence of Greeks in Hungary, while he also had the opportunity to meet with members of the highly active local Greek community.
President of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Christofias warned that the negotiations which began with a view to reunify Cyprus will not be easy and pledged to continue working hard in order to reach a solution, based on fundamental principles.

The renowned author of the Hellenic diaspora of North America, Justine Frangouli-Argyris, will be participating in the third annual Multilingual Book Fair to be held October 3rd and 4th in Astoria, NY in the auditorium of St. Demetrios Greek-American School.
Excerpts in English from her book, The Legacy---I Parakatathiki, will be read by Greek-American columnist/journalist Bob Nicolaides on Saturday, October 4th at 4p.m.
Also, a reading from her newly published book, Havana Diaries---Imerologio Avanas, will take place by journalist/correspondent Michael Ignatiou.
A book signing by the author will follow.
All of Justine Frangouli-Argyris' works will be available at the fair (The Lonely Path of Integrity, High Heels for Six, Clouds Fly Don't They? Stis Agores tou Kosmou, The Legacy, Havana Diaries).
The author will participate in the official opening of the bookfair with a speech about her experience as a journalist and an author.
Justine Frangouli-Argyris was born on the Ionian island of Lefkada, where she attended elementary and middle school. A graduate of Athens Law School department of Political Sciences, she has been working as a journalist since 1983 for daily newspapers and magazines in Greece.
Since 1989 she has been living and working in Montreal Canada as a correspondent for the Athens News Agency, Sunday's Eleftherotypia newspaper, Epsilon magazine, and works as an associate of the magazines "Diavazo" and "Dekata".
