Greek-Americans warn on Talat visit

In a letter, members of the Greek-American community have called for intervention by US President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, in order to reverse decisions by officials promoting the visit of Turkish-Cypriot leader Mechmet Ali Talat to Washington. The letter says the decisions adopt and expand still further the Bush dogma on the Cyprus dispute, which is contrary to their declared positions. In view of Talat's upcoming visit to the US capital and the meetings he is scheduled to have with US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and Obama's National Security Adviser, James Jones, the Greek-Americans warn the White House that the unacceptable actions by members of the administration must be overturned, before they create serious problems, which will take years to rectify.
