Greek MP’s to visit Imvros

The 2nd Vice-President of the Hellenic Parliament and honorary permanent member of the Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Council, Elsa Papadimitriou and MP Aristotelis Pavlides, head of the Hellenic Parliament’s delegation at the Parlimaentary Group at the Council of Europe depart for Imvros today on an invitation by the Imvrian Society.


 

During their visit which will last until August 16th, Ms. Papadimitriou and Mr. Pavlides will attend celebratory events marking the August 15th religious holiday for the Virgin Mary, which are attended by large amounts of Imvriotes of the Diaspora whiel they will also meet with omogenia representatives, Bishop Kyrillos and representatives of local Turkish authorities.
