The inclusion of Greece in the visa-waiver programwas requested by 41 members of Congress, in a letter to US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano asking that the issue be resolved as soon as possible.
Greek expatriate women were honored for the second consecutive year in Thessaloniki on Wednesday night in a special ceremony hosted by the Prefecture of Thessaloniki in cooperation with the World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE).

“Independence Day” in Moscow

An event dedicated to Independence Day is ebing organized by the Hellenic Cultural Center on March 25th at "Lomonosov" high school's auditorium in Moscow. The event will be addressed by teacher and archaeologist, Dimitrios Kougioumtzoglou while students of the center will present the "Greek Revolution of 1821 through memoirs of its fighters" and an musical presentation. In addition, a screening of Panos Glykofridis' film "The trial of the judges" (1974) referring to the arrest and trial of the struggles fighters, Theodoros Kolokotronis and Giorgos Plapoutas will also take place.
