Elections were held on Sunday for the new Board of Directors of the Cypriot Community of New South Wales with the participation of hundreds of members. There were no changes to the current board as current president, Michalis Christodoulou and his team were reelected.

A new program in support the Greek mothers abroad that face problems is being launched by SAE titled "Mothers of World Hellenism". In charge of the programme is SAE Secretary Olga Sarantopoulos. The program is directed to mothers of Greek origin in former USSR countries, Latin America and Africa who are unemployed, raise their children Cypriot history forum in Sydney A highly informative and interesting forum was organized on Tuesday evening at the Cypriot Community in Sydney, with key note speakers four academic instructors from the University of Cyprus. The four academics are in Australia to attend the International Conference of Greek Studies and Research which begins on Thursday in Adelaide and is organized by the Department of Modern Greek Studies at Flinders University, headed by Professor Michalis Tsianikas.
