Greek migrant, 45-year-old Michaelis Vasiliadis, has been elected president of powerful IG BCE union in Germany, which represents workers in the metal, chemical and energy industries (IG BCE - Bergbau, Chemie und Energie) – one of the biggest trade unions in the country.

A Greek-Australian researcher in Melbourne has headed an important study on anti-oxidants. An international team of scientists, led by Monash University researchers, has found that anti-oxidants commonly touted for their health-promoting benefits, could contribute to the early onset of Type 2 diabetes.
