Nicholas Kiriakakis, a 25-year-old Queens restaurant/lounge owner, was released on bail on Friday following charges of double homicide and one count of criminal possession of a handgun. Bail was set at $2 million. He pleaded not guilty on Monday to the shooting deaths of two New York City men on a Teaneck street last month.

Cacoyannis Foundation opens

President of the Hellenic Republic Karolos Papoulias and Cyprus President Demetris Christofias inaugurated on Tuesday evening the ''Michael Cacoyannis Foundation", housed in an Athens central building.
The inauguration event took place in the presence of Cypriot born Michael Cacoyannis, director of world acclaimed films such as Stella, Electra, Zorba the Greek and The Trojan Women.
