The German-Greek Business Association (DHW) in Germany this year celebrated the cutting of the New Year cake in accordance with Greek tradition at the St. Andrew parish centre in Dusseldorf, where the parish priest, Ioannis Psarakis, blessed the cake and distributed the pieces.
The organisation itself was the lucky one this time to win the piece with the coin concealed inside. "This is a very good omen," said Chrysostomos Dimou, the association's coordinator and host of the evening. After analyzing the minutes of meetings last year, Dimou said that 2007 was a very successful year, with decisive developments for the organisation in general. Not only Greek cuisine was promoted in the region, through the KERASMA seminars in Cologne and Dortmund, but also serious initiatives were taken to the benefit of all its business members.
