Forbes’ 2010 list of the world’s top 1000 billionaires again includes several Greeks or Greek-Americans. Below you can see the names of the five Greek-Americans who made the list starting with their position, name, age and net worth.
Nicholas Kiriakakis, a 25-year-old Queens restaurant/lounge owner, was released on bail on Friday following charges of double homicide and one count of criminal possession of a handgun. Bail was set at $2 million. He pleaded not guilty on Monday to the shooting deaths of two New York City men on a Teaneck street last month.

New York – He moves slowly in corridors seeped in nostalgia and tears. A grey walking stick supports his body. On the walls around him are black and white photographs depicting tales of migrants. Once, this was their last stop prior to the American dream. Their future in America was sealed on Ellis Island.
Santiago - The Greek community centre in Santiago has sustained serious damage from the strong 8.8-Richter earthquake that hit Chile in the morning of February 27.

Greek finds water on the moon!
Σύνταξη/επιμέλεια από τον/την Θεόφιλος Δουμάνης
Around 600 million metric tons of water ice were discovered in shadowy craters at the moon’s north pole. How much is that, in terms that mean something to you? Possibly enough to sustain a moon base, that’s how much.
A piece of NASA radar equipment hitching a ride on an Indian probe made the discovery, which was reported earlier today. It was only last September that water ice was confirmed to exist on the moon’s south pole, but these significant deposits bring us that much closer to the ultimate space nerd dream of a base on the moon.
“The new discoveries show the moon is an even more interesting and attractive scientific, exploration and operational destination than people had previously thought,” said Greek–American Paul Spudis, a NASA engineer who works with the Mini-SAR radar equipment.
Scientists say the water, which may be more readily available than that found at the South Pole, could be mined for fuel and oxygen or distilled into drinking water for lunar dwellers.
