The hospitality program, organised by the General Secretariat for Hellenes Abroad, for the children of expatriate Greeks from all over the world, was successfully completed again this year.
Some 700 ethnic Greek children from 61 countries, aged from 8-12, were accommodated at the Foreign Ministry’s camp sites in Malesina and Epanomi, with a program including Greek language lessons, visits to archaeological sites, history and mythology courses, and many other activities. Foreign Undersecretary for Greeks Living Abroad, Theodoros Kassimis, who was present at a farewell ceremony in Malesina, said it was moving to see ethnic Greek children from every corner of the globe learning Greek, performing ancient Greek drama, dancing Greek dances and singing Greek songs.
