Ένας Έλληνας για πρώτη φορά στη μεγάλη λίστα των λογοτεχνικών βραβείων Booker. |

Το βιβλίο αποτελεί μια μικρογραφία της σύγχρονης πολυπολιτισμικής Αυστραλίας, ενώ σατιρίζει την οικογενειακή ζωή.
Είναι η πρώτη φορά στα 41 χρόνια των Βραβείων Booker που ανάμεσα στους υποψήφιους βρίσκεται και ένας συγγραφέας ελληνικής καταγωγής.
Στη μεγάλη λίστα υποψήφιοι είναι επίσης οι: Έμα Ντόναχιου, Χέλεν Ντάνμορ, Ντέιμον Γκάλγκουτ, Χάουαρντ Γιάκομπσον, Αντρέα Λεβί, Τομ ΜακΚάρθι, Ντέιβιντ Μίτσελ, Λίζα Μουρ, Πολ Μάρεϊ, Ρόουζ Τρέμεν, Άλαν Γουόρνερ.
Η μικρή λίστα ανακοινώνεται στις 7 Σεπτεμβρίου. Το βραβείο απονέμεται στις 12 Οκτωβρίου.
