Greek Communist Party General Secretary Aleka Papariga is due to inform Greeks living in Düsseldorf about the upcoming European Parliament elections tomorrow, in an event organised by the Parish Centre of the Saint Andrews church at 7pm.
The 8th annual "Mathitiada" will be held in the village of Proti, the birthplace of Konstantinos Karamanlis in the Serres Prefecture, on May 8-13 with the participation of 1,200 high school students from all prefectures in Greece and from 42 Greek expatriate schools.

Παρέμβαση Παπούλια για τα Μάρμαρα
Την ελπίδα ότι σύντομα τα Μάρμαρα του Παρθενώνα, που βρίσκονται στο Βρετανικό Μουσείο, θα τοποθετηθούν στο νέο Μουσείο της Ακρόπολης, το οποίο εγκαινιάζεται τον Ιούνιο, εξέφρασε ο πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας, Κάρολος Παπούλιας. «Τα Μάρμαρα να βρεθούν στη θέση που τα περιμένει», είπε ο κ. Παπούλιας. Ο κ. Παπούλιας παρέστη σε ημερίδα, που οργάνωσε στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Ελσίνκι, για το θέμα των Μαρμάρων, η συσταθείσα -τον περασμένο χρόνο- Φινλανδική Επιτροπή για την επιστροφή των Γλυπτών του Παρθενώνα. Στην ημερίδα μίλησαν, τονίζοντας την αναγκαιότητα αυτής της επιστροφής, ο πρόεδρος της Επιτροπής, πρώην υπουργός της Φινλανδίας, Ολε Νόρμπακ, ο διευθυντής του Οργανισμού για την ανέγερση του Νέου Μουσείου της Ακρόπολης, καθηγητής Δημήτρης Παντερμαλής, και ο πρόεδρος της Βρετανικής Επιτροπής για την επανένωση των Μαρμάρων του Παρθενώνα, καθηγητής του Κέιμπριτζ, Αντονι Σνόντγκρας.
