More than 3,000 distinguished Greek academics are teaching at American universities, according to the Education Minister Evripidis Stylianidis, speaking to the Greek radio service “The Voice of Greece”. He added that the ministry has started procedures to list the expatriate Greeks teaching at major US universities and participating in research.
The president of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, Giannos Grammatidis, has been honoured by Development Minister Christos Folias for his contribution to furthering Greek-American trade relations.
A former community leader from the Chania prefecture – with the help of his nephew – may be the future heir of an enormous fortune. Antonis Sbirakis was surprised to learn that he could be one of the beneficiaries, whom the New York Life Insurance Company is looking for.
