Forty-three years after being written in Greek, the doctoral thesis of the Australian Archbishop, Stylianos, has now been translated and published in English. A presentation of the English version took place at a Greek church in Melbourne, in the presence of officials and many Greek-Australians.
With instructions from the Parliamentary Speaker Dimitris Sioufas, the secretary-general of parliament, Nikos Stefanou, accompanied by other officials, visited Cyprus for meetings with their Cypriot counterparts on September 8 and 9.
A disagreement between the two major parties, governing New Democracy and main opposition PASOK, is dashing hopes that the Diaspora vote will be ratified within 2008. The September 9th disagreement broke out during a meeting at the Greek Foreign Ministry chaired by foreign minister Dora Bakoyannis.

Australian newspaper tribute to Athens

A three-page article devoted
to the city of Athens is featured in Life and Leisure, Australia’s
largest financial newspaper, The Australian Financial Review.
The article speaks about Athens’
renaissance following the 2004 Olympic Games, characterizing the city
as being lively with a wonderful metro system, filled with art galleries,
bars and state of the art hotels.
Special mention is made about
the New Acropolis Museum with added commentary by the president of the
museum, Dimitris Pantermanlis who talks about the new museum and about
Greece’s effort for the return of the Parthenon Marbles. The Technopolis
Center in Gazi and the Benaki Museum of Modern Art are also highlighted
as significant cultural centers of Athens.

by photographs of the New Acropolis Museum, hotels and night clubs.
It should be noted that the
