Droutsas-Clinton meeting

Alternate Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas met in Washington yesterday with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, saying after their meeting that he had expounded on Greece's positions on major national issues as well as Greece's will to help, through initiatives in its greater region and especially in the Balkans and the Middle East as well. Mr. Droutsas also met with Deputy Secretary of State, James Steinberg.
With respect to the visa-waiver program for travel to the US, Droutsas noted Greece had already completed all the necessary procedures and had met its obligations on the issue, something which was also verified by the US, noting that it was simply a matter of US domestic procedures for the program’s completion.
