Greek Ambassador to the United States Alexandros Mallias will inaugurate today February 19, at 7:00 pm, at the Levy Family Exhibit Center in Los Angeles (10500 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90024), a photo exhibition Hidden Children in Occupied Greece.
The event is under the aegis of US Congressman Tom Lantos, Chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee and Greek Ambassador Alexandros Mallias. The Photo Exhibition will take place from February 19 - April 18. The Greek Consulate General in Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Office of the American Jewish Committee have joined efforts in organizing in Los Angeles the exhibition HIDDEN CHILDREN IN OCCUPIED GREECE, presenting the stories of 16 Jewish children form Greece, who escaped death during Greece's Nazi occupation with the help of their Christian compatriots. The Exhibition is co-sponsored by the Sephardic Temple Tifereth Israel and the American Friends of the Jewish Museum of Greece and is supported by the Maurice Amato Foundation and the Rhodes Jewish Historical Society.
