The Chinese public will have the opportunity to become acquainted with the Aegean civilization within the framework of events for the “Cultural Year of Greece” in China, with the presentation of an exhibition entitled: “Cyclades: Masterpieces of an Aegean civilization”. Thirty-six ancient artifacts (marble statuettes, marble and clay jars, bronze and stone tools), which date to the late 4th and the 3rd centuries BC and belong to collections from the Museum of Cycladic Art and the National Archaeological Museum, will travel for the first time to Beijing. The exhibition – to be held from April 3 to May 15 – aims at bringing the public into contact with some representative examples of one of the oldest European civilizations – the Cycladic.
