The unveiling of a statue of the great mathematician Constantine Karatheodoris took place on Saturday, February 2, at the new Peristeri City Hall. The ceremony was officiated by Education Minister Euripides Stylianidis.
Constantine Karatheodoris was a prominent Greek mathematician, who was distinguished on a global level. He was born in Berlin on September 13, 1873. His father, Stephanos Karatheodoris was a lawyer - who worked as a diplomat for the Ottoman Empire - from Constantinople, originally from Eastern Thrace. His mother, Despina, was from Chios.
