The total amount collected by Cyprus for the victims of last summer's wildfires in Greece has risen to two million pounds. The Cypriot daily newspaper, "Fileleftheros" alone raised over 95,000 pounds with an extra publication it issued on September 16, with the aim of assisting those affected by the disaster.
The money was handed over the newspaper to Cypriot Finance Minister Michalis Sarris, in order to be added to the "special fund for Greek wildfire victims". The management of the economic aid from Cyprus will be decided by a special committee, headed by the former foreign minister of Greece, Petros Molyviatis.
