Distinguished Greek director, Maria Iliou presents her film, “The Journey: The Greek-American Dream” on Sunday March 9th at 3pm at the University of Michigan’s Department of Classical Studies. The film is the result of years long research of thousands of archives in the US and tells the story of Greek migration to the United States. The film’s photographic and archive material is also complemented with interviews by distinguished Greek-Americans such as: Senator Paul Sarbanes, authors, Elias Kulukundis and George Pelecanos, poet, Olga Broumas, critic and film historian Dan Georgakas, Ellis Island archive guard, George Tselos, professors, Maria Klironomos and Artemis Leondis, researcher, Gus Chatzidimitriou, Father Robert Stephanopoulos and historian and film advisor, Alexander Kitroeff.
