The 4th “Odysseas” Hellenic Cultural Festival, organised by the Greek Orthodox Community of South Australia, opened on Thursday, October 1 at the Palace Nova cinema in Adelaide. The opening coincided with the start of the Greek Film Festival and the screening of the movie, “The Wedding Party”. The focus of the official opening ceremony – attended by high-ranking Australian and Greek officials – were eight pretty young Greek schoolgirls from the community, whose presence adorned the evening. In his brief welcoming speech, the president of the Greek Orthodox Community, E. Elovaris, dedicated “Odysseas 2009” to Greek youth, who represent a valuable part of the community and hope for the future.
